Tiny Tuesday: Camouflaged

A much more sensible blip from me today after yesterday's shenanigans with flying glasses and a hairdryer.  In case you were wondering, the glasses were actually attached to the far side of my head with a clothes peg and carefully arranged to look as though they were flying off my face.
:-)

... and now back to today's blip for Tiny Tuesday which is being hosted by Osuzzana this month.  You really wouldn't notice this little chap so perfectly is he camouflaged to blend in with the paving stone that he is sitting on.  It was only his grasshopper's chirruping buzz that alerted me to his presence, and even then it took a few minutes to work out where he was.

You can tell that he's a grasshopper rather than a cricket by his shot club like antennae.  Crickets have long wavy antennae that are longer than their bodies.

In case you are interest he's actually a field grasshopper or chorthippus brunneus and about 1.5cm long - so suitably tiny.  You can tell that he's a field grasshopper by the strong indentation at the shoulder, the pale patches at the rear edges of the shoulder shield and the hairy underside.
