Rowing Practice on the Thames
Back from Germany and decided to go to Highgate Cemetery in London (buried there, amongst others, are Karl Marx, actor Sir Ralph Richardson, Charles Cruft (the founder of the famous dog show, Crufts), the parents of author Charles Dickens, novelist George Eliot, painter Henry Moore and criminal, Adam Worth who some believe was the inspiration for Professor Moriarty, the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes) to have a look around .....
...... found it quite easily but was then very shocked to find that, although they make a charge to enter the cemetery there is absolutely no parking within a mile or so (that I could find or that they could tell me about) ..... I never got to see Highgate Cemetery today ...
...... so I went down to the River Thames (to maybe find some more sunbeams that you all seemed to like so much last week!!!) ..... no sunbeams but saw these rowers sculling along - the blue sky reflected and bright sunshine casting sparkles on the water.
