Washing our Ba's and finding cows in green jelly

As you can see in the picture, Bailee loves her pink ba; she also loves getting wet. Both Oscar and Bailee have always enjoyed messy play, so the delight when I asked them to wash their bas was immense! In case you haven't guessed, 'ba' is short for bunny....

Bailee loves her pink bas. They have both had them since birth. I can't remember when but at some stage she started gripping onto one of them when she went to sleep. We started doing a rotation as it was difficult to wash and dry in the English climate between nap times. It eventually ended up that Bailee required two pink ba's to sleep. We have two similar spares on standby, but know that when the time comes that one is misplaced, they will not suffice.

Oscar on the other hand never fully bonded with his blue ba. Up until one week ago, he was much more attached to his dummy aka 'da'. He has asked for the dummy three times since we "Sent it to Claire's baby", but has adapted better than expected. The main issue is that he wakes in the night and is not used to automatically self settling without it. We have had to go in and give him a cuddle most nights since dummy removal.

I wonder about Bailee's bas. Will she still be carrying them around when she is 20? How grey can they get? I am still deciding if we should introduce one to Maple or not.

Back to messy play. There are many times when we have been to a messy play session where it felt like Oscar and Bailee were the only children actually getting messy! I would always go home with not one, but two of the messiest children of the group! Oscar and Bailee were able to use a fork and spoon from a very young age. Recently however, they have decided it is much more fun to revert back to using their hands...

The twins spent a good 45 minutes on the balcony washing their bas and then playing with green jelly in which I had hidden plastic farm animals. They loved getting wet and the feel of the jelly up their arms and between their fingers.

Fun times!

I chose this picture not only because it is cute, but because Bailee hasn't starred in one of my blips for 2 weeks! How did that happen? Sure made me feel guilty, dividing your time equally between three children is quite a challenge!
