All systems go.....

Another harvest day. Sent them off for some bales first thing. Then off to cart barley when the combining started late morning. They had the field finished by 2 pm so that is the winter barley all cut. Don’t know how long the spring barley will be before it is ready.
I spent the day baling the straw . Roughly the same number of bales as last year so not too bad considering the drought all summer.
Had a couple of farming friends from Gloucester call in this morning. They were up for the tattoo last night and we’re heading back home today. They were saying how much greener it is here than back home so it must be really bad down there !
Was good to get a quick catch up any way. Still think it’s a long way to come for one night though . It must be nearly 40 years since we all went to the tattoo as kids with them.
