Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus)

The weather forecast mentioned showers around midday so i took the opportunity for an earlier walk along the local nature reserve.  I went armed with some old ice cream tubs as it's blackberry time.  Returned with a litre of berries; it's probably the best harvest of recent years.

Anyway, saw this little fella in amongst the grasses next to one of the bushes.  He/She? has seen better days with the colouration faded and some damage to the right fore wing, but in the absence of anything else, it has become the blip for the day.

I was lucky, literally as I opened the front door on returning the first drops of rain were falling and within a few minutes the heavens opened and we had a deluge.
