Quod oculus meus videt

Sunrise at Ramshaw Rocks

It's funny, when I set an alarm, inevitably I wake up before hand.  4 am meant it hardly seemed as though I had put my head on the pillow before I was awake again.

I'd decided on a visit to the Peak District and Ramshaw Rocks.  It's that time of year when the heather is in full bloom and the contrast with the gritstone is extra special.  I parked up with a few minutes to spare before sunrise.  I'd hope for some mist, but it was predominantly clear and very little in the way of cloud (to begin with).  A couple of fellow photographers were nearby; one of them fortunate enough to live in the nearest town of Leek, so he literally had a 5 minute journey to get to this location.

I spent about 3 hours in the area, taking various photographs and also flying the drone over the rocks, as well as sending it out over Hen Cloud and the Roaches.  I'm just getting to grips with software to process videos.  At the moment I feel very much a novice with processing video clips, so it may be sometime before I can share anything.

A coupled of extra shots.  One an aerial looking south along Ramshaw Rocks towards Leek and Stoke on Trent.  The other near Roaches End, looking towards Shutliingsloe.

I did film some video and have put it together on You Tube.
