The pale light of dawn

I wasn't late this morning but, when I came around the side of the house the night's stubborn grasp was just beginning to give way to dawn's gentle light, and I thought it looked beautiful. I felt sanguine, hopeful, optimistic, cheery, anticipatory. Such a welcome change from the recent gloom - both emotional and physical - and hopefully a sign of a more positive time on the horizon.

Today was a good start in any case!
