Hip, hip, hurray...

....it's the Burryman's day! Mel nobly came round very early to collect Doc and whisk him out to the Ferry for the ritual dressing in the Staghead. I went out quite a bit later and met up with the Man and his entourage in the Varnies. Didn't meet J (Persevere) this year, but did meet J (formerly Old Bat) and had a good natter.

The Man couldn't go down Hawes Pier to greet the Maid of the Forth as it was closed to the hoi polloi due to a cruise ship being parked just beyond the bridge (and he doesn't have anywhere to carry his passport).  But I saw that the crew of the Maid managed to come up and greet him outside Hawes Inn, so they should be in luck for another year.

After the Burryman's last trudge up the High Street and the ritual undressing I managed eventually to extricate Doc from several simultaneous conversations and got him back to Leith, extremely tired and somewhat drunk! An early night was in order.

Extras are the Burryman getting his last wee sip of whisky from the landlady of the Staghead, and the cruise ship passing Inchcolm as it departed.
