A Mull
It didn't rain quite so much as on the previous night so we managed to have a modest cooked breakfast. Then we decided to head down the Mull of Galloway, from whence you can apparently see England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland plus the Isle of Man.....on a clear day. We had a daunder round the lighthouse and encountered a family of stonechats, who were entertaining little birds.
Then we visited Logan Botanic Gardens - getting the benefit of the Gulf Stream and so full of exotic plantlife. A whole avenue of cabbage trees (see extra)! And there were some larger specimens in the gardens that were apparently 80 years old!
After that it was on to Glenwhan - another garden, but very different. Also very lovely. It included a short walk into the neighbouring rough moorland where D spotted a lizard, to his great delight. Then back to the campsite where we found a dragonfly resting on the tent, and had a slightly more palatable meal than on the last two evenings.
