Saturday: Chicago

Well done to those who guessed Chicago yesterday!

We've had a great day - very full, and with amazing weather. We began the day with an Architectural Boat Tour, taking in the amazing architecture along the river. Everyone we spoke to about this trip before we came said it was a must, and we weren't disappointed. Chicago has some amazing Art Deco and postmodern architecture.

From there, we took the 'L' train up to Old Town - as the name would suggest, the oldest part of the town. Lots of quirky independent shops, restaurants etc. We had a spot of lunch there.

Back into downtown, and this evening it was out for ribs, at the 'Miller Pub', an institution since the 1930s. They claim that their ribs are world-famous. I can't judge that, but they were pretty fine.

Ended the day with a lovely long walk along the river - they've pedestrianised it beautifully, making for a really attractive walk along the water's edge.

A couple of shots in extras.
