Pro Patria 2018

'Pro Patria, in Latin, means "for one' country". The Pro Patria Association is a Swiss patriotic and charitable association whose purpose is to give meaning to the Swiss National Day every August, and to collect funds to benefit social and cultural programs that are in the national public interest."

We took the bus to Vitznau this morning where we watched hundreds of folk queueing for the train that would take them part of the way up the Rigi.

Time for a glass of iced tea and then a wander round the village. Outside what looked like a very ordinary house there was a glass case fixed to the wall and inside was a display of all the Pro Patria yearly badges (?) right from the start in 1923 right up to 2018.

It was very difficult to photograph through the glass .... too many reflections. The collage has the best of the photos.
