Congratulations
I was Torias plus one at a wedding today near Edinburgh in the little town of Haddington.
The bride was fashionably late, at 11.15am, but beautiful when she arrived.
The reception was deemed to start at 2 pm but somehow we didn't sit down for food till 4pm. I guess all the photo taking took some time. This gave Toria and the gang time to rehearse. They were doing two sets of five songs. She only found out 4 days before the wedding.
Baby Cynthia (pictured with Toria in the extra) enjoyed keeping us amused with her squeaks and squeals of delight. Here mother Ellie is also a soprano like Toria. I think baby Cynthia was trying to copy them.
Eventually dinner, speeches, spectacular singing and dancing the Gay Gordons.
One of the most profound parts of the day for me, was during the grooms speech. He thanked his dad for 'allowing him to be the man he wanted to be'. It was all quite complicated but just lets say, race, nationality and religious following all played an important part.
I drove the 2 hours home across the stunning country side of the Borders. The A7 is a fantastic route. Finally falling to bed at 23:30 zzzzzzzz
