Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Home again!

Home today, after a wonderful stay at Monachyle Mhor.

It was raining the whole way, but it didn’t matter - we had a good day yesterday. There was no need to stop on the way home, though JR did have a browse in Callander (one of my mum's favourite villages - nothing she liked better than a wee trip to The Trossachs).

We took the easy, shorter way home, via Stirling and the M9. I took the long way there, under the pretence of going to Perth/Pitlochry, so it was no mucking about in the rain - straight home.

Archie got quite excited when we arrived (he was still damp from his recent walk) - he was running around looking for his toys, but in his excitement, he found one of Christine’s ornaments instead. Oops.

Mind you, he went and sat with Christine while we were forced to have a glass of bubbly. I love this, as it means he's completely at home with her. It's his second home - or it has been this August. We're so lucky to have such a dog friendly friend.

A glass or two of bubbles there, then home to welcome a visit by Elizabeth, bearing flowers and presents. Good thing is... I get to share these pressies!

Archie went crazy when she came in, and sat sighing on her lap the whole time. I don’t mind mind being third choice - we're lucky he has such good friends.

He's even getting quite close to Rufus!

Nice to be home, though a very basic shower - no steam room. Hope it didn’t give JR ideas for bathroom refurbishment...
