Ruby-throated Hummingbird .....

..... stretching his wings.

As I was sitting in the sunroom this morning I saw one of the hummingbirds in the back on the butterfly bush.  Then he flew up into the tree nearby.  I grabbed my camera and went out to see if I could get any pictures of him sitting still for a change.  

And obviously I did!  I have added an extra that was taken shortly before this main blip. These shots were taken from different vantage points as he kept moving around!

Shortly before we went to bed tonight I checked on the butterfly cat enclosure.  The first chrysalis from August 5 has started to darken up ... it shouldn't be long now before the butterfly emerges.
