The bottom circular part is static and rented out as offices. The upper PV unit rotates during the day to keep pointing towards the sun.
Munich lost all power today for an hour or so - no traffic lights, people stuck in lifts & tube etc - the cause not yet known, One theory; an over capicity of renewable electricity overloaded the system. Can't believe this as it was about 8:00am on a foggy, windstill day, however just recently it was suggested that there are power surges caused by renewables which can damage electrical domestic equipment.
