Clearing up
Second sunny day, leaves are drying but still relatively wet as they were pressed together by the heavy snow a couple of weeks ago. Not great friends of the leaf blower but around tress & fence posts, it is a great help. We bought it 15 years ago to clear our sand school of leaves.
There is a lot of "opposition" to these machines in the large towns. The town of Starnberg, near Munich, has put all their blowers away. The council cleaners now have to do all leaf clearing by hand. In a TV interview, the head of the council maintenance complained bitterly about the decision. Haven't heard whether he got sacked! Starnberg has the highest per capita income in Germany & has the largest number of registered cabriolets! The Starnberger Lake & the surrounding area with the Ammer-, Woerth, Pilsen- and Wesslinger Lakes forms the area known as "The 5 Lakes Area" & is a truly beautiful. The last King of Bavaria died (or was murdered!) in the Starnberger Lake. King Ludwig II built many impressive if somewhat costly residences, including Neuschwanstein, THE German tourist spot.
