Two halves

It was very hard to choose which half of the day to post a photo from. In the morning we went to Howick Hall and gardens, well the hall isn't open to the public, it's the beautiful gardens that are the draw. There were so many cabbage white butterflies around, this one looks as though it's been round the block a bit doesn't it?
In the afternoon we walked through the quite extensive arboretum, for a while in the rain, to the coastal path and found a wonderful rocky and sandy beach, Howick Haven, just as the sun came out, fabulous! More beaches to come soon though!
