Bomble leaping from the patio fence
Woodpeckers and I had tea in the cabin after I'd picked her up from the market this afternoon. We have been getting ready for our holiday in Spain which starts tomorrow. There is still a lot lot stuff to do but a tea break was a good idea. Bomble came out to join us and sat watching birds and occasionally falling asleep on his perch on a table in the cabin.
Helena went back to the house and I carried on with the Guardian quick crossword, not being ready at the moment to do the cryptic one. Then I went into the garden with my camera and pottered about after refilling the bird feeder. Bomble came to join me and followed me about. At one point as I stood waiting for birds to feed, he leapt up the trunk of the old rhus tree from which the feeder hangs and sat for a few minutes on a branch. Then he climbed higher to the top of the tree and jumped onto the wooden fence next to the patio. He only stayed a couple of minutes and I noticed he was preparing to leap down to the ground and so I caught him in mid flight. I'm glad to get this picture even though it isn't very sharp or a good picture because he is getting quite old and won't be able to do this for much longer.
