RVI, Newcastle...
So after yesterday's calamities with the glass cleaner in my eye (see previous blip for extent of injury) I had it properly checked out at the RVI.
Every year I go to the RVI to have a check up on my eye. I was born with a cataract in my right eye and since then have had numerous operations on my eye to try and make it as awesome as possible.
Sooooo...they washed my eye out properly and stuff, i have drops to stop it hurting as much but to be fair it's still sore. My eye is swollen and pushing on my lens so until the swelling goes down i might get headaches...all that from yesterday's mishap with the glass cleaner haha.
I had my eye test like normal and my right eye is still awesome. However, it is so awesome, Paul said in effect, I am blind in my left eye. I dont use my left eye at all until I close my right eye. so although they are still happy with the progress I have made over the past 16 years, they can't stop my brain doing what it's doing...but my eye sight in my left hasnt gotten worse so they're just leaving it. That means i have no reason to wear my glasses cos they aren't going to help anyway. Only downside to my brain only using my right eye is my left eye is going to grandually get wonkier. which i kinda figured and am a bit gutted about. So as it drifts further out to the side, i'll have to have an operation to straighten it again. Which is no biggy because it's nothing I haven't had done before, but it will mean time away from ju-jitsu and kobudo! NOOOOOOOOOOO
Mr Clarke, my operationy dude and head awesome man, wasn't actually in today because he was at a massive conference in san fransisco, to talk about me! Buzzing for life haha. Although my eye is duff when i'm using my right eye, i'm his most successful patient so far so he's taken my files to talk about my eye and what he's done with it over the past 16 years. i was mega disappointed that i didnt get to tell him my gcse results...so I wrote him a letter while i was waiting and it's going to be given to him as soon as he gets back. It would be mega cool if he wrote back to me but obviously he's a VERY busy man. So i'm not building my hopes up :)
This is the photo of the letter I wrote to him, all in an official envolope too haha
