Return to one of my favourite places once again.

Today we made a return visit with some friends to Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House, both National Trust Houses and Gardens.
The weather was a little misty and overcast when we set off, after a warm night.
It was quite humid.
Baddesley has a tranquil wooded area with shady pools to wander through, and after we all had a coffee, we set off along the pathways under the trees.
I stopped several times to take in the reflections in the water, the light filtering through the leaves up above.
The sun reappeared and it became very warm, turning into a glorious summer day. A bonus day!
We toured the vegetable garden and the dahlia border which is in the walled garden.
It was soon lunchtime and we enjoyed sitting outside in the small enclosed courtyard, rather than inside the restaurant.
The afternoon was spent at Packwood House and Gardens. By this time the sun was quite hot as we walked around the lake, which is pictured here.
It is such a typically English scene. Although we live close to the urban sprawl of Birmingham, we have beautiful countryside within close proximity.
Our trip today was 35 minutes by car.
My urban neighbourhood is not far from rolling fields and countryside.
When we got home I had to open up the summerhouse doors and windows as it was baking hot inside!
Rain is forecast for tomorrow.
