Wilted, but not for long

It is 9:30 PM, and the temperature has dropped 23 degrees since today's high of 89 (tying the record - yesterday, at 91,  we broke the record for that day.)  I have thrown open all the windows just to get out the heat; I will close them again later because the air is still full of smoke.  The moon is a funny orange color, and there are no clouds or stars to be seen.  But the heat wave has ended!

Here is Minkelina earlier in the day, when the apartment was so hot and airless.  She's rarely picked herself up off the floor since the heat started.  It will be good to see her have a bit of energy again.
