The Provost's Lampost

Today's the day ..............................to walk down the road

A lovely day here today with an autumn sun shining in a mackerel sky.

Armed with sticks, set off for a walk down the road and on the way back, saw this ornate blue lampost in a front garden. Apparently it was the house where the last Provost of Penicuik had lived before they changed the electoral boundaries.

Rather a shame, I thought, to do away with a custom like that. Who wouldn't like to have a nice blue lampost to light up their house ............................
