Heron Mill

Kanyl's birthday, so we decided to make a day of it.  We are all keen garden centre visitors so we started with a visit to Beetham Nursery, where we had lunch.

After lunch across the road to Heron Hill.   The mill is a working water mill which while not milling flour all the time has 3 days a week when flour is milled as demonstrations.  From the photographic point of view the days without demonstrations are best.  The mill runs but there are fewer (in our case just us) people to get in the way of shots.

After the mill we moved on down to Barton grange garden centre near Preston a place Kanyl used to visit with his late wife.  After a pleasant visit we moved on to another place of memories for him "The Cottage" Fish and Chip restaurant in Blackpool.  After a good meal it was up the M6 and home.
