No Escape

Mandatory state proscribed drugs keep the subterranean population in a perpetual state of sedate stupidity. All sexual activity strictly illegal. Humans grown in vats from the semen collected by masturbation machines operating in conjunction with holographic TV shows of pornographic sex and violence. Constantly piped reminders from the voice of OMM (the state created God) to , "Let us be thankful we have commerce. Buy more. Buy more now. Buy. And be happy," while nothing is produced, nothing is sold, and the foam pyramids earned for menial labour is immediately thrown in disposal units by the stoned workers who cannot see the pointlessness of all they do, and passively consume entertainment which sounds like this; 

"Combined with economic advantages of the mating structure, it far surpasses any disadvantages in increased perversions. A final tran - An infinite translated mathematics of tolerance and charity among artificial memory devices is ultimately binary. Stimulating rhetoric. The theater of noise is proof of our potential. The circulation of autotypes. The golden talisman underfoot is phenomenon approaching. And, in the history of now, all ethos are designed."  

This is, quite simply, one of the most hypnotic films I have ever seen. A visual and auditory masterpiece by one of the greatest cinematic story tellers and visionaries in the entire history of film. I mean, of course, George Lucas.

The sound of a man being bludgeoned to death by a robot police officer for entertainment on the holo-vid network is sampled by Nine Inch Nails for the opening track of The Downward Spiral, Mr. Self Destruct. Validation doesn't get much better than that.
