The Doorway

Norma and I visited Katoomba's brand new "Cultural Centre" today. It is repleat with art gallery, new public library, seminar facilities, workshop rooms, training centre, coffee shop and spectacular (as well as largely meaningless) open spaces. There is no dedicated (and income deriving) performance space of course. Political correctness and OH&S has reached Monty Python proportions and if the place is not empty and derelict in two years - when council finds the whole absurd folly is too expensive to sustain directly from rates - I'll be very much astonished.

This is probably the least descriptive of all the pictures I shot today but I felt it WAS (potentially) the most interesting.
