Funeral and wake

Today was Tricia's mother's funeral. Lots of thought and preparation and as a consequence everything went as smoothly as one could have hoped. Indeed the wake in the nearby pub became a celebration of a good life rather than a mourning of a passed life.
A full collection of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren helped it become a busy affair. As someone said, it was a do that Daphne would have loved.
A bit of fresh air (and plenty of rain) in the afternoon was followed by a curry for our mob in Lichfield. We could not work out the last tine all the children and us had been present in one place but was a shame it had to be a funeral to bring everyone together. Next Summer, DD&J's wedding will be a happier occasion for the meeting of the clans.
