Old photos

My contribution to Tricia's mother's funeral (not sure how it should be apostrophed!) has been to put together a collection of images into a powerpoint presentation to run through the wake,
This involved garnering images from the family along with scanning some old slides Tricia had in her possession. Not even sensible sized slides but funny huge glass things. This image was from one of those and must have been taken in the late fifties, probably in Sweden. Other fascinating images were of the last gasps of colonial rule in Malaya.
It makes one realise that one doesn't generally ask people about their early lives but just take them and understand them as you meet them in the present. To have to put together the various images, helped form a picture of that early life and can end up giving you a much better perspective on that person's whole life.
Never throw away those family photos!
