Highly Unsprung

Dave took me here on a wild, wintry day 25 years ago, we had the place to ourselves. Our return visit today was very different, full of visitors from all over the world, the whole site was alive with languages from wonderful and richly cultural countries the world over, all had thought this ruined castle, dripping with the history of scottish political turmoil over centuries, on an outcrop in the north east of Scotland, worth a visit. It is. I liked both visits, a quarter century apart. Kids loved it too. There are some real tales of sorrow and cruelty within the walls.

The chamber near the entrance was my favourite remnant of what once was, the dampness over time has made the walls luminescent green. The wee field vole fairly entertained us up at the field beside the car park too.
