My Best Efforts - Year 3

By AMC

67 years ago today.........

.............. the Airspeed record was broken by Fl.Off.H. J.Wilson of the R.A.F. at the speed of 606 mph in a jet propelled Gloster Meteor! Today's image is of the Jet Provost, developed from the piston Provost of the late 1940's, and R.A.F. pilots were given thorough jet training in this version. The success of the trials led to the R.A.F. ordering large numbers in 1957 (the T3).
This is quite a departure from my usual Blip but, as they say, variety is the spice of life!

Weather started dull and dreary but there was a glimpse of sunlight a little while ago but it has clouded over again.

Enjoy the weekend whatever the weather.
