Working my Passage

And no-one else’s.

A life on the ocean wave.  The never ending cruise liner that is the MV Graemsay.  I had to swab the decks - I earned my grog.

You’ll no doubt all remember what George Melly said about life at sea.*

George was a bit of a naughty boy at times.  His obituary in the Daily Telegraph began: ‘George Melly, the jazz singer, author and raconteur who died yesterday aged 80, leched, drank and blasphemed his way around the clubs and pubs of the British Isles and provided pleasure to the public for five decades.
