Last day
Early start today. I should have gone for a haircut but decided to wait till I get home.
The big thing, of course, was to pack and leave the place clean, so we set to. All nice and relaxed and there was plenty of time.
We took a break to go to T@3 in Wonersh. It was good to get out and capture my image, which needs to be seen in comparison to the same view when we first arrived. Just a little rain has done its work. G is very sad leaving as the temperature is finally perfect and she's loving watching the leaves change colour.
It's always sad to leave a place you've been in for a while, especially when the sun is shining and lighting everything up so beautifully. We drove to the airport watching a spectacular sunset. Delivered the car back with one or two hiccups. The signage in the UK is definitely not as I remember from the past.
Interesting to see that they are doing away with check-in staff at Terminal 5. We had to scan our boarding passes, place the bag on the scale and put the printing luggage tag on ourselves. A tricky job at the best of times. For some reason, there was a problem with mine, so we needed the help of a human.
The terminal was so empty when we entered, but going through to the gates via the transit, it was heaving! There you go. I did mention to a security guard about the hefty surcharge that passengers are charged to use London Heathrow and the number of things that weren't working as well as poor signage that costs time (and money). He proceeded to get into the lift with us! I have to admit I was worried my complaint wasn't taken as feedback.
