Mothers...

Day.

My pressie from Sim was a visit to the Shard followed by dinner at Marco Pierre Whites New York Italian and we decided to book for a last hurrah of the summer holidays (although it hasn’t been the easiest voucher deal to sort out but all ok on the night).

We picked up our tickets easily from reception before ascending in the very fast lift to the 33rd floor and into a second lift to the 68th floor. You walk up the stairs to the 69th and 72nd viewing floors. Wow! The views are amazing ~ we thought we had good views from the sky garden last year but you look down onto this ‘small’ building! There was a cloud hanging over London but the sun shining across the panoramic views. We had an expensive drink and soaked in the views for over an hour and we just had to use the loos with a view ;-D)) I didn’t need to go but did just to have this surreal experience.

The city was heaving with after work drinkers enjoying a Friday evening. We had a 15 minute walk to the restaurant and enjoyed our food and glass of bubbly from the special voucher menu.

We were close to St. Paul’s and I wanted to grab some night pics so we had a walk down to the river and decided to cross the bridge to catch our train home. A lovely evening..thanks Sim!

Few extras ;-))
