Sunday Walk
After rain during the night and this morning we were able to get out for a walk along the Boulder Bank. It is a natural spit of boulders formed from the debris of land slips from Mackay Bluffs, swept southwards by sea currants over 10,000 years. I don't now if the top of the spit has been compacted by a machine or if it's just the walking of people that have made the top flat and easy to walk on. We met a couple of ladies who have walked the 8 kms to the light house at the far end. They said the end part was rockier and more difficult to walk on. The bank forms a spit which separates Tasman Bay from Nelson Haven. You can see some spots of rain on the stones but it didn't come to anything. We could hear the stones being rolled by the waves. A unique place to ramble.
