The accidental finding

Thid morning I attended, with CleanSteve and another friend, the open day and relaunch of the county archive, which has had a one-million pound upgrade..I hadn't been there before, but was drawn in by the promise of a tour and a presentation of short films. These films were of photographs and documents within the archive, with a soundtrack of the owner/subject describing the people, places or objects within the photos.

This was the mother of the interviewee, from a family in Drybrook, in the Forest of Dean. She entered domestic service at a young age, but also married, raised a family, and was described as a 'wonderful mother'. Unfortunately I did not catch her name, as I was a little late for the start of the film. I could not take further photos, as I was sitting in the front row.

Afterwards we came home and I had a snooze, then started unpacking. Made supper, including local plums with grilled blackberries and mascarpone. Now we are watching The Bodyguard again.Tense again, may have to restart the jigsaw I abandoned a few weeks/months ago. I've finished the Flying Scotsman one that I blipper yesterday. Wasn't much fun, but kept me up late.

Back to school tomorrow. Meh.
