Middleport Pottery on the map......

My first visit to see the poppies while they're being displayed at Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. They were beautifully and sympathetically put together for the location, as they seem to have been for each place they have been installed. 

My main shot is of the Trent and Mersey Canal which runs past the pottery. I just happened to be at this point when a canal barge chugged past. I have included some images of the art installation in my extras.

I was meeting up with some friends from out of the area. Once we'd visited Middleport, we had lunch at the Emma Bridgewater factory.

I was also doing my best to promote the local area!
