Shadow Play

A lovely warm morning for butterflies. I keep hoping each day will bring sightings of a few more. Today was just buzzing with insects. And I even watched my first hornet kill this year. They're amazing hunters.

There were lots of red admirals, painted ladies and tortoiseshell butterflies, but I spent much of the time trying to catch up with the whites. This is a female large white.
