Blipping a blipper?

It is sometimes surprising what you see on the streets of Edinburgh even after the Festival is finished.

I’ve no idea if the person taking the photos is a blipper: in any event they were having fun.

I spotted this on my way this evening to the Signet Library - see extra with new lighting - for the annual APEX lecture. This year it was given by the Deputy First Minister, John Swinney. He gave a comprehensive overview of policies towards children and young people and their involvement in the. Justice and welfare system. The focus of the lecture was on ACEs - adverse childhood experiences and the critical need to prevent or address them effectively if we are to effect significant cultural, societal and behavioural change for the future.

Prevention and coordinated action featured strongly. As did the principles of Getting it Right for Every Child. It was like listening to a review of my career, or at least the latter part of it.

It was a fitting end to a full day which included a 4 hour senior management team meeting followed by discussions on how to shift public perceptions of the care system and those going through the system.
