if you can't stand the heat..

I had just been stung (twice) on the leg by wasps who thought I was stealing their apples, so I lay down on the cool grass to take the heat out of the sting. D was coating his boots nearby with a special waterproofing mixture which he has leftover from making "tin pants" out of a pair of Carhartt trousers. He cooks up the mixture (tung oil, microcrystalline wax and white spirit)in a slow cooker and then applies it with a paintbrush and a heat gun.
