Heron of the Woods

For the past month there has been an unusual visitor in the woods...a Great Blue Heron.  I have seen him/her several times but it is difficult to get a good shot...not because it flees quickly, but because it is walking through the thick woods! I actually followed it (and prayed not to get any ticks!) to get this shot.  I get the feeling that it is searching for something?  Has me curious anyway...

A very hot and humid day, breaking records once again.  Supposed to get a thunderstorm tonight...we shall see.

I am not even going to write about work  ; )
