Ritual

Every morning for it must be three or more years now I see this man. Sometimes he is shuffling ever so slowly towards Ikuta Shrine but usually he is standing right here, motionless, looking at a small shrine within the main complex. Sometimes, when I have returned two or three hours later in the morning he is still there, in the same spot, looking straight ahead.

Why does he come here every morning? What does he see? Or what does he imagine he sees?
