Boo
A wet miserable day today but the forecast is set to improve now. It was still warm enough to sit on the balcony making calls (it's covered) which was where I saw this little fellow peeking out at me.
Just the sort of day for struggling with I.T. , but eventually updated website articles and got some course dates loaded onto the mountain training site.
Then off to collect today's extra which is dedicated to FennerPearson as it strikes me it would appeal to him. It has the aesthetics of a 1990's brick phone, and initially appears to do little more than calls or texts (it also does full GPS) - but it is actually relatively cutting edge in being a lightweight satellite phone. From this season its a requirement that guides in France have to be able to contact the rescue services at all times. Many seem to have ignored the new rule, some have gone VHF radio, but I'm trialling this before buying.
Hopefully I'll be making just one exceptionally expensive test call from somewhere weird, and the rest of the time it will stay in the bag.
