So much for harvesting ! Rain this morning so brought a batch of cows and calves in to tag the calves.
Another job interview after lunch for the hill shepherd position. The lad seemed keen enough but phoned back later to say his girlfriend didn’t like the remote location so he didn’t want the job . Bugger. Running out of options , only one more left to see.
Went down the road to check the barley tonight. It was about 19.5 % moisture on the meter. By the time it’s cut you add on about another % so didn’t try cutting any as 20.5 % is too wet and costs a lot to dry down to 16% to store. If it was 7th October I would be thinking different though !
Got the mobile dryer filled up and set up ready for battle to commence anyway.
