The Golden Orb.....
Or more commonly called the Banana Spider in Florida. The spider is about 3” long... it’s as big as it looks..... The Banana Spider is very gentle. When I used to ride in the woods, the spiders would fall on me when I rode into their webs. My horses were 17+ hands tall so I was way up in the air.
The spider would crawl all over me, but they don’t bite. They make a meal of other insects., having no interest what so ever for warm blood critters. (Me).
If you look closely you can find 2 baby spiders... one under the thorax and another crawling out from under a leg on the right.
I am not a spider lover, but these friendly, colorful critters eat a lot of mosquitos and flying insects.
