Diary of an Edinburgher

Wrong dog on the cushion!

Becky came for Archie today and off they trotted to the Park. And such a nice day it was too, despite the forecast yesterday. They popped in to see Daniel at the flat, who 'wasn’t feeling well'... possibly to do with last night's activities ...

JR went off to try to get some plants for the winter garden. Wrong idea, on a Sunday - the shopping centre and all roads leading to it were mobbed! She was away for hours.

I busied myself, leisurely, with downloading some music (Scottish albums from the 80s, when I wasn’t here, so missed out). I'm great at multi-tasking - sofa exercises, reading the news on the iPad, listening to music on the Bose, and watching 'Shed and Buried' on TV with the sound off. With a bagel and coffee to hand.

JR returned, eventually, and set to making a cake for tomorrow's birthday lunch! (Bowl licking ensued).

Rufus and his mum popped in, bearing gifts - the biggest cherries I’ve ever seen. Where were they grown? Aberdeenshire! They've enjoyed a couple of days of peace and quiet, with constant access to a toilet, if needed (mind over matter) and generally girded their loins for another week of renovations. Rufus insisted on posing with the new cushion, but cunningly tried to hide it with his tail.

Meant to mention - yesterday, on the bus, an older man with a big tough-looking dog that I'd always assumed (but never checked) was a male, got on the bus. I see them often. Today I asked what the dog's name was.

'Margarita'. Cute!

Check our what we were doing this time last year!
