Wonderful concert

This afternoon, at the Barbican, three of the most eminent musicians played three Brahms Piano Trios. Emmanuel Ax, Yo Yo Ma and Leonidas Kavakos were so much of a partnership that they produced pure magic.

It was sold out, and the audience were spellbound, silent and thrilled.

It was a super day. After the slowness of Virgin Trains this morning, it was good to return to the bustle of London, and meet two friends. Carol and I had bought tickets before our Baltic States adventure, but the third of our group had snapped up a seat online while we were in Riga.

A lovely lunch, the amazing concert......and a gentle journey home (and in time for “Bodyguard”
