Son of Fang

This is Son of Fang, one of the giant house spiders, known more formally as Eratigena atrica, that live with us. 

We currently see quite a lot of Fang and his gang as this is the time of year when the boys rampage around the house looking for mates.  Unlike the garden orb spider that I blipped yesterday these males are much bigger than the females and so after mating they live to lust another day, rather than ending up as a meal for their lover.
