Spanish Skyline

It was like this everywhere 10 or 15 years ago. Then the bubble burst and building stopped. The cranes which silhouetted the skyline were dismantled and taken away.

Everywhere you went there were apartment blocks unfinished, uninhabited and unloved, quickly falling into disrepair.

Now, it seems, the boom is back and so are the cranes. So why can't they refit the old skeletons and make them beautiful again? Why leave them to continue their descent into ruin and start building new monstrosities to blight the landscape?

It will be because someone is making some money somewhere, somehow. Of that you can be sure.
