Leaf Macro
As the forecast was for heavy rain I decided to collect autumn leaves in order to photograph them indoors. I wanted to do a macro shot but wanted to make it much larger than life-size. In order to do this I used a reversing ring and my wide-angle zoom. Fortunately I have a Manfrotto micro positioning plate which moves the whole camera backwards and forwards on the tripod as this is the only way you can achieve focus when you go above life-size macro. I have not used the reversing ring approach much previously so his was very much learning as you go. I quickly realised that even if I was only looking at a small portion of the leaf it needed to be relatively flat to achieve focus overall so the leaf had to be pinned down using cardboard masks. The overall image is no master piece but I thought some of you might find it interesting.
