Off into the (slightly) unknown

As promised yesterday, today we packed up the camping kit and headed off to the West. Lunch found us not far away at the side of a quiet road.
We are aiming for the Causse Blandas, near a UNESCO world heritage site called Cirque de La Navacelles, which is a spectacular part of the world. Stunning scenery, good birds, good butterflies and good archaeology so what is there not to like.
The area itself had not changed much since we last visited and still impressed. Some fascinating archaeology - dolmens, menhirs and cromlechs (stone circles to you and I) a plenty without a single signpost to help you find them.
The only disappointment was the evening meal we were booked into at the gite we were camping by failed to materialise and we had to head further afield - all of six kilometres - to find suitable nourishment.
