Day 2 Chicago fullday
After our epic sleep we managed to get up early and get to The Original Pancake house for breakfast. Seriously nice pancakes. Rich had a bacon waffle.
We took a walk to the river and decided to to a boat tour. It was great, really informative and went out on the lake too, so got some nice city scape photos from the water.
After the tour we took a walk through Grant park, past the bean (Cloug gate) and to the museum campus. Sadly only time for one museum so we picked the Shedd aquarium. Great aquarium although for $40 each I’d bloody hope so!
Walked back up through the parks and found the beginning of Route 66 which bodes wiell for tomorrow!
Ended up back at the Riverwalk and sampled a traditional Chicago hotdog with ‘sporting peppets’. Had heard this earlier in the day and was intrigued as to what they were. I can confirm they are disgusting and should not be fit for human consumption. Rich covered his hotdog in them regardless. We also had a few cocktails and a slightly squiffy walk back to the hotel. Was nice go see some of Chicago at night.
Our intent was to change and then go out somewhere for drinks, like one of the famous blues clubs. Unfortunately our aching bodies did not agree so we have retired to the giant bed and an early night.
Tomorrow we pick up the car and start the route...eeeek!!!
